Hello everyone, My name is Ann Marie Harte, I am a final year Arts student studying geography and sociology. I was fortunate enough to get elected to the position of College of Arts, Celtic studies and Social Science rep for this coming year. I am really excited to start meeting you over year. I am a chatter box and very approachable friendly person so please don’t be shy, feel free to contact me and I will try and help you out the best I can. Ok so first off my role as College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Science rep is that I am responsible for the problems and issues raised across this college that are put before the Student Union and the University. This means I am spokesperson for over 8,000 students in the college. Along with this I am in charge of the class reps for the coming year. I am their link to the sabbatical Officers in the Student Union and I am responsible for holding college clinics for the class reps for matters that need to be discussed in relation to class issues. Aside from being a link for the class reps to the Union I sit on the Student Union Executive which would include the 3 other college reps, the five sabbatical officers, Entertainment officer, Irish officer and Equality officer, Post-Grad Rep and clubs and societies Presidents. This meeting is to discuss the student body as a whole and I represent the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Science. From the Student Union to university, I sit on a number of academic boards. One of the academic boards that I sit on is the academic council which is held once a month with senior academia and Student Union representatives. This council is chaired by the president of the college and the aim of this meeting is to discuss all academic issues that affect the whole University. So that’s the bones of my job! I also have a Blog up and running and you can keep track of the work I have done and the work your Class reps have done. Just click onto: cacsss.tumblr.com. Take a look at my progress and feel more involved in your college. I also want to thank the people who came out and voted for me. I am forever grateful and promise to do an amazing job! If you need to contact me in the coming year on an issue or problem no matter how big or small don’t hesitate to contact
